Margot L. Van Dis, DDS, MS, is a professor of Dental Diagnostics Sciences in the Department of Oral Pathology, Medicine and Radiology and Director of the Cone Beam Imaging Facility at Indiana University School of Dentistry. She has been at IU since 1990 and taught at the Ohio State University College of Dentistry from 1985-1990. She will retire in May, 2014.

Dr. Van Dis received her DDS degree from the University of Michigan and her MS degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She was the first woman to serve on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. She served several years as a test construction consultant to the Dental Assisting National Board and the ADA’s National Board Dental Examination Part II. She co-authored three textbooks in dental radiology: Basic Principles of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology; Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology: Radiologic/Pathologic Correlations, and of Radiographic Imaging for the Dental Team. She was a contributing author to the reference Diagnostic Imaging: Oral and Maxillofacial.
