Madhu K. Nair, BDS, DMD, MS, Lic.Odont., PhD.

Dr. Nair is a tenured Professor and Head of the Division of Radiology at the Texas A&M University (formerly Baylor College of Dentistry). He is also the Graduate Program Director of the OMFR graduate program, and Director of the Imaging Center at TAMU. He was formerly tenured Professor and Chairman of the Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences, and the founding Program Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Residency at the Univ of Florida where he also held a joint appointment in the Dept of Radiology as Division Chief at the College of Medicine and Shands Hospitals. He currently serves as a Director on the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, while holding several official positions with national and international organizations in radiology.

He has approximately 200 publications, and  several book chapters to his credit, as well as a long track record of research funding. He serves on the editorial board of peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include 3D imaging, image analysis, teleradiology, radiology informatics and quantitative imaging. He established and ran one of the largest teleradiology networks in the US at the Univ of Florida. Dr. Nair chaired the joint expert panel on behalf of the AAOMR on the position paper on the use of Cone Beam Computed Tomography in Endodontics with the AAE.

He graduated from the UNC-Chapel Hill Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology graduate program and completed a second Master’s program at the Goteborg University in Sweden, followed by a PhD in Radiology under the mentorship of Dr. Grondahl and Dr. Webber. He also completed fellowship training in Medical Radiology Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center while serving as the Director of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh.
