Anita Gohel, BDS, PhD

Anita Gohel is currently a Clinical Professor & Program Director of the Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology at the Ohio State University, College of Dentistry. She earned her dental degree at Calcutta University, India in 1990, and certificate of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and PhD in Oral Biology from the University of Connecticut in 1998. She became a Diplomate of the ABOMR in 2000.

Her current responsibilities also include managing the CBCT and advanced imaging practice. She served as a mentor and advisor to several master’s candidates from Boston University Medical Sciences program. She has received the BUGSDM community award for excellence and has been nominated to the Emerging Leader Forum at BU. She also has received a Certificate of Merit award from RSNA and has been an invited author for RadioGraphics CME articles. Her research interests include the role of integrins in glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, advanced imaging topics especially CBCT imaging. Dr. Gohel has also served the Academy as a member of various committees and is a reviewer of DMF Radiology and OOOOE. She has been an invited speaker for several local, state and international meetings. Dr. Gohel is a contributing author of the Radiology book, Head and Neck Imaging Cases (McGraw-Hill Radiology, 2011).
