Important Dates for ABOMR Certifying Examinations in 2023
Deadline to send in the application for ABOMR Verification of Eligibility
Application form and supporting documents must be e-mailed/uploaded and payment must be made between March 15 – April 19, 2023. Please refer to Certifying Examination Handbook for further details.
A notice of approval or need of additional documents will be sent approximately May 8, 2023.
Registration dates for Parts 1 and 2 Examinations
Online registration that includes a letter of intent, uploading supporting documents and payment of examination fees must be completed via ABOMR online account between (Dates to soon be announced). Please refer to Certifying Examination Handbook for further details.
Last Date to withdraw (with full refund)
A candidate may withdraw from the certifying examination by sending in a written request to the Secretary/Treasurer for a full refund. Please refer to Certifying Examination Handbook for further details. Deadlines for full refunds are as follows:
September 1, 2023 for Exam 1.
August 4, 2023 for Exam 2.
The ABOMR Certifying Examination part 1 will be a virtual examination administered at a local Prometric Testing Center. After a candidate has been approved to sit for Part 1, they will be directed to sign in to the Prometric website as a “test-taker”, locate a regional test center and schedule the examination. The examination will not be remote.
The ABOMR Certifying Examination part 2 will be held at the University of Texas – San Antonio Exam center at 1 UTSA Circle, San Antonio, TX 78249 (Multidisciplinary building). Visitors will be required to park in metered parking in the Bauerle or Ximenes parking garages. The Ximenes Ave. garage is the closest to the Testing Services office. Hourly charges apply. Once parked, exit the parking garage and walk towards the Multidisciplinary Studies building directly behind the Ximenes Garage. Testing Services is located in the first entrance on the bottom level and is marked by a blue sign labeled “Testing Services.” It is highly recommended that you arrive 30 minutes early to the exam.
