Dr. DelBalso is the chair of the Department of Radiology At University at Buffalo School of Medicine. He has over 25 years’ experience serving in the military, active duty and as a reservist.

His area of expertise is maxillofacial/head and neck imaging. He had previously served as the director of radiology at the Erie County Medical Center and since August 2000 had been director of radiology at Buffalo’s VA Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American College of Radiology and the American Society of Emergency Radiology and am certified by both the American Board of Radiology and the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology. He had held several positions for the latter organization, including President. He also regularly reviews articles for radiology journals including RadioGraphics, Military Medicine, and Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Endodontology.
